Right now, electronic cigarettes and all vapor products are under attack. As reported by the CASAA, the Consumer Advocates for Smoke-free Alternatives Association, your right to vape as you please may not exist in a short amount of time if action is not taken. In a dire Call to Action, this industry is pleading for the help of all who have made it possible to get this far, to demand support for Bill HR 2058.
The FDA recently proposed a law that is looking to halt the sale of almost all alternative tobacco vapor-related products, and would take effect in the next 2 – 4 years. This is an urgent, and extremely serious matter because if things work out the way the FDA intends, vaping may soon be a thing of the past, and your freedom of options will be remarkably slim (care for a downgrade back to tobacco, anyone?). Seems like a major shady injustice, does it not? Well this is for real, and if you want to continue being able to enjoy your vapor alternatives to smoke, you’ve got to act ASAP.
The FDA needs to reevaluate their Tobacco Deeming Regulations because vapor products have no reason to be classified in the same bracket. Removing these products from the market will be not only a serious detriment and infringement upon the rights of those who use them, it will also be a public health trauma due to the number of people who will be impacted by having their tobacco-free alternative being taken away unnecessarily. The severity of the unfairness of this proposed law is monumental; to deny consumers options by removing 99.9% of vapor products is oppressively dangerous.
How can you do your part to help? Let your voice be heard! Call or email your Congressional Representative and Senators and ask them to support and cosponsor the bill, HR 2058, which is a major effort that will halt the FDA’s banning of electronic cigarettes and other vapor products. In the first days of the call to action, tens of thousands of vapers called the White House, to the point of many not being able to get through, and it is urgent to keep relaying the message because our rights are being challenged.
