Advanced Vape Juice Techniques
Well, you’re about to!
It’s time for the master class on how vapers can optimize their experience.
It’s all here in one place. In a matter of minutes, you’re about to learn:
And last, but not least, everyone’s favorite: How to create your own flavors.
Vaping is a fun hobby that can offer you hours of enjoyment – and the more you know, the better it gets. Remember, though, that these techniques are for experienced vapers only. Follow the directions and be extra careful when handling nicotine or high-powered vapes. Let’s get started with one of the most important things for any vaper to know.
Lots of vapers get started to help them stop smoking. This makes a lot of sense, since you can control your nicotine intake precisely using the right e-liquid. By diluting your vape juice to the appropriate nicotine levels, you may be able to avoid some of the worst withdrawals. To get started, you need to know what level of nicotine to begin with.
E-liquids can range anywhere from a moderate 6 milligrams of nicotine to 24 milligrams, an ultra-high level for serious chain smokers. You should start at a level that’s slightly below your current nicotine habit and gradually step down from there. Diluting comes in when you need to find a step “between” two existing levels.
For example, lots of manufacturers offer only 6mg and 3mg options. That can be a drag, because the more gently you ramp down, the better. Luckily, it’s easy to get the nicotine level you want.
The easiest way to dilute flavors is to start with the pre-packaged juice at a slightly higher level than what you’re aiming for, then “cut” it with a bottle of zero-nicotine juice in the same flavor. As you move toward a 50/50 mix, you get closer to half the juice’s labeled nicotine strength.
Of course, you don’t have to go straight for a 50/50 mix. Using an eyedropper, you can start by adding a tiny amount of zero-nic liquid to your mix. The key is this: If you want to be sure you’re working toward zero, keep notes about what you mix and how much you use. Step down every week or two.
Using an unflavored base liquid is your other option for diluting.
Base liquids are just carriers for your flavor and nicotine. They consist of vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG). When you use these as mixers, you won’t have to worry about making your flavor too strong; they dilute the nicotine without adding anything.
It’s a good idea to experiment with base liquids a little before you do a full mix. VG and PG have distinctive consistencies, so they can affect how liquid travels through your device.
Switching flavors like a boss is vital to making sure you get the taste you expect every time. Switching flavors isn’t that hard, but there is an art to it. If you enjoy the same flavor for long stretches, you might not need to switch until you replace your coils or tanks. If you want to change things up several times a day, though, it’s important to do it right.
First off, clean your tank:
Cleaning the tank is crucial because you want to bust any “ghost flavors” that might linger on.
Ghost flavors are the transitional flavors that may be produced right after swapping in one flavor for another, and some of them are downright weird. If you don’t clean first, there’s no telling what you might end up with. After your tank is clean, you can optionally change your coil. While this will give you the best experience, many vapers who change flavors frequently skip it because the costs can add up. Alternately, you can rinse your coil under hot water.
Be careful – it takes up to two days for coils to dry completely before you can use them again. It’s a good idea to maintain a backup coil so you can get back to your regular schedule even faster. Sometimes, a particularly stubborn flavor will hang on in the coil heads. When you run into this problem, break out the vodka or 151-grain alcohol for an hour-long soak. Then rinse again and let it dry thoroughly. Your ghost flavors won’t stand a ghost of a chance. What if you change flavors regularly? There are a few ways to make it easier:
From all the way back in the beginning – the age of pipes – blowing a cloud has been a fun and mysterious trick that can really get a rise out of people. Just think of Gandalf the Grey blowing wizardly, multi-colored rings in the air and you get a sense of how mystical this can be.
Of course, blowing vape clouds has a modern edge. It’s so popular that it’s even become a competitive sport. With a few easy techniques, you can be on your way to blowing your own world-class clouds, too. It just takes a little practice.
If you’re using VaporFi products, you’ve already got this covered. Still, it’s good to get a little insight on how all the factors work together. When it comes to blowing bigger clouds, your vape is your instrument – the better it is, the cooler your results will be. Your vape influences your vapor production in a few ways:
Sub-ohm vaping has become popular because the lower the coil’s electrical resistance – in this case, less than one ohm – the faster you’ll be able to vaporize your liquid. To maximize the effect, be sure that you have a potent battery. The coil and battery really work together. When it comes to blowing big clouds, airflow doesn’t just come from your lungs. It also refers to the ability of fresh air to come in along your atomizer and cool the temperature of the vapor. This protects you from the possibility of burning your lips or throat while producing a big cloud. For optimal airflow, some aficionados adjust their vape to make the air hole larger. If you decide to do this, be careful – you can end up with unexpected changes to how the device performs.
Your e-juice makes a tremendous difference in the quantity and quality of your vapor. It all goes back to the balance between VG and PG. Most e-juices blend these two ingredients because they have different uses: VG provides the flavor, while PG is responsible for vapor production. If you want to excite and bewilder people with huge vapor clouds, your best bet is to go for a 100 percent PG e-juice. It’s much easier to get superhuman vape clouds and pass yourself off as the local wizard – just beware that 100 percent PG doesn’t taste like much, so it’s not for daily use.
This is where the rubber meets the road – championship techniques for letting out huge clouds. For bigger and better clouds every time, get used to this six-step process:
At VaporFi, our flavor experts are always at work coming up with the best new taste experiences. We know better than anyone that making your own flavors can be fun, exciting and satisfying.
Once you know how to create your own custom vape juice flavors, you’ll never run out of awesome things to try. You can even whip up totally new combinations from whatever you have lying around.
Anyone who’s ever cooked or baked can tell you that coming up with a new flavor usually starts with an interesting idea – a stroke of inspiration that can come from nowhere. But: Once you’ve found your muse, how do you actually make your idea a reality?
It’s not so hard – and it’s a lot of fun.
Follow these steps:
This might seem like a no-brainer, but it’s essential to getting the crisp flavor you want. There are more than 30,000 vape juice flavors out there right now, so understanding your favorite flavor profiles is the key. Think of the individual flavors as building blocks or colors on your palette. If it seems overwhelming at first, start with a general category like fruits or menthol and work from there.
Naturally, you want to be sure that your new flavor blend carries the nicotine content you want. If that happens to be “none at all,” things get a little bit easier. If there’s an exact amount you want, refer to the section above on diluting your vape juice. As you add more flavors to your blend, it becomes more important to ensure they all add up to the right nicotine content.
So, now that you’ve got your idea, it’s time to break out spoons and measuring cups, right?
Well, not so fast.
VaporFi’s Create a Flavor tool gives you access to the whole rainbow of vape juice combinations and lets you experiment to your heart’s content without ever spilling a drop. You can combine up to three flavors and get a PG/VG ratio of 70/30, 50/50 or 100 percent VG. Since you can easily order your own custom blend in a handy 30mg bottle, there’s never any need to do the mixing yourself. You simply bring the creativity and let us do the work in our top-quality lab. Once you’ve found your own signature flavors, you can order them again any time.
They also make terrific gifts for all the other vapers in your life – not to mention friends and family members who are interested in how vaping can help kick their nicotine habit.
Now isn’t that a whole lot easier than what you were expecting?
Good job – you are now among the elite, the best of the best in the vaping world. By mastering these techniques, you’ve learned more about vaping than most people will ever know – and you can take your experience to the next level.
