VFC 50: The Deets

If you’re familiar with the world of MMA, you’re probably already in the know about VFC, or Victory Fighting Championships. This organization is the peak of MMA organizations in the Midwest and has garnered just as much appreciation from fans as fighters. They have played a major role in influencing the careers of more than a few MMA fighters from the area, and there will be plenty of homegrown talent fighting for a chance at the top at this event in front of their home crowd. VFC 50, aptly named since it is the 50th event for VFC, is highly anticipated to be their biggest event yet. It’s already sold out, and with the lineup of fights they have set for the evening, there is no doubt, this is an organization that everyone will be talking about by the end of it.

A Little More About Jake Lindsey

Born and raised in Manhattan, Kansas, to be fighting in front of his hometown is an honor and a privilege for the 29-year-old MMA pro. After high school, Lindsey attended Kansas State University and then transitioned into MMA training in 2007. He did the amateur circuit for several years before turning professional in 2010. In 2014, after dominating the scene with a 9-0 record, “The Librarian” signed with UFC. Unfortunately, this tenure did not prove favorable and ultimately tarnished the perfect record he had worked so hard to cultivate. After 3 losses in March 2015, Lindsey was released from the promotion. Even still, he has managed to carve out an incredible career and brings a ton of passion and one hell of a mind game to every match. We are so looking forward to watching him take it to the cage, fighting for #TeamVaporFi!

Standing at 5’ 11” and weighing in at 155 lbs, the 29-year-old Jake Lindsey is a powerful lightweight contender. He fights out of Manhattan, Kansas, with the association, Combative Sports Center. He is a UFC veteran, and he came busting through the doors of the sport with 9 wins, 7 of these being determined by way of finish. His current record stands at 10 wins, 4 losses, and this Librarian is aiming to make it 11 with a title at VFC 50!

Jake Lindsey’s fighting style is known for being equal parts brute force and a seriously challenging mental game. He double teams his opponents with clever mental manipulation, presenting one hell of a poker face with no problem laying down the gauntlet with some high energy boxing and wrestling moves. His nickname alone speaks of his mental agility, however, he is certainly more than just book smarts; his signature move is finishing, and that’s exactly what aim to do to his opponents.

The VFC 50 Headline Fight

VFC 50 is set to be one of the biggest nights of MMA for the year! In addition to the Bucia VS Lindsey fight (go Team VaporFi!), the evening will include the headlining match between heavyweights Abe Wagner and David Gallmore, as well as the match between Jarred Mercado VS Alexandre Pimentel, and another VaporFi fighter Maki Pitolo VS Justin Guthrie. Yeah, it’s going to be nonstop insanity!

Bottom Line

VFC 50 is going down on Saturday, May 21, 2016, live from UFC Fight Pass at 10:00 PM! Get ready to support #TeamVaporFi as Jake “The Librarian” Lindsey puts the books away to hit the cage against his fellow VaporFi-sponsored fighter, Zak Bucia!
