About the Main Event
Bellator 181 will be broadcast live from Thackerville, OK, from the WinStar World Casino and Resort. The Main Event during Bellator 181 will be the Catchweight match featuring VaporFi-sponsored Derek Campos and Brandon Girtz. Girtz currently holds a 14-6 record, and we are quite familiar with his sharp and intense method of fighting. We expect Campos, who holds a 18-6 record and is currently on a three-win streak, to be an equally-matched, and exceptional pairing, and we are looking forward to witnessing these two beasts go hard.
These two fighters are no strangers to one another by any means; tonight’s fight will be their third time facing off in the past four years, and it should be pretty fierce as in the past, they have each taken one fight against one another. This is expected to be a fight of braun as much as it will be of the brain; Girtz is coming into the fight with three straight losses and according to Campos, this has the potential to make his opponent additionally volatile. "Any fighter that has his back against the wall like that, you know he’s a dangerous man," said Campos regarding Girtz’s mental stance for the evening ahead. However, Campos is ready with full mental preparation, stating: "When it comes down to it, he’s cornered, and I’m gonna destroy him."
Co Main Event
Bellator 181’s Co Main Event will feature the likes of Joe Warren, who holds titles in two MMA weight classes, facing off against Steve Garcia. This is going to be a killer fight, as Warren is seeking to avenge his previous loss to Eduardo Dantas not too long ago. With a long and prosperous career to date, Warren has only experienced back to back losses once; and he has no intentions of repeating history. We’re ready to see him do some damage, that’s for sure!
