A Little Background on Maki Maleko-Pitolo
In April, 2016 he made his VFC debut, and he currently stands at a 7 - 2 in wins and losses. Standing at 5’ 9”, 170 lbs, he is amped to have a spot in the VFC promotion as a welterweight.
Hailing from Waianae, located on the West Side of Oahu, Maki Maleko-Pitolo’s background is about as interesting as it gets. He is a long-time athlete, bringing an incredibly level of athleticism to the table. Having played football initially, Maki transitioned to kickboxing, and then further broadened his prospects by experimenting with additional disciplines such as wrestling, Jiu Jitsu, and Muay Thai, during the football offseason as a way to maintain his cardio and diversify his exercise training routine. This lead him to find his calling in MMA, and has opened the doors for what appears to be a promising career in fighting.
Coconut Bombz Fight Style
Maki’s training regimen includes daily strength and conditioning work, followed by Jiu Jitsu, sparring, along with additional methods of training. Of course, the training comes with the territory when shear determination to dominate is the goal, but most of all, the fight itself is what he lives and breathes for. Though somewhat new to the scene, Maki is not only focused, but his sights are dead set on the UFC and to ultimately become the best in the world. “Every time I'm walking out to the cage, that whole preparation the day of the fight leading up until I walk into the cage, every time it feels brand new to me and it's something that I hunger for. Especially when I finish the guy or I win by decision or whatever it is, I'm so blessed that I get to do it every time,” is how Maki sums up his personal drive for the fight.
