WSOF 31: Event Details
WSOF will be happening live from the Foxwoods Resort Casino, located in Mashantucket, Connecticut on June 17, 2016. It will be broadcast live via NBC Sports at 9:00 PM EST, and this is expected to be one serious night, culminating in 12 different matches between some of the best MMA fighters of the moment. The main card will feature another #TeamVaporFi fighter, Josh Copeland VS Blagoy Ivanov as they face off for the heavyweight title. Additionally, other fights of interest for WSOF 31 include Lorenzo Hood VS Tyler King, Phil Hawes VS Joshua Key, Robert Fonseca VS Sean Lally, Sam Watford VS Christian Torres, Juliano Coutinho VS Justin Willis, and Jason High VS Mike Ricci, among others!
More About Luis “The Baboon” Palomino
Luis Palomino, AKA “The Baboon” is a Peruvian native, based in Miami, with an impressive professional record of 24-12 since going professional in 2006. As a premier lightweight/ featherweight fighter, everyone is excited about what he brings into the cage. At 35, and standing at 5’ 8”, 156 lbs, he is a force to contend with, and none of his opponents take his abilities lightly. He is equally skilled and focused, with a certain degree of unpredictability; between his ability to lay down a serious TKO and laser-sharp intensity, those faced with “The Baboon” in the octagon know he is ready to lay down the law at a moment’s notice!
Currently, Luis Palomino trains with the association MMA Masters in Miami, FL. He is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and has progressed up the ranks to the level of “Professor” in Capoeira under the training of the highly acclaimed Mestre Cesar. In 2014, Palomino signed a contract with the WSOF, and his debut with this promotion saw him face Jorge Patino during WSOF 8, in which The Baboon conquered as a result of KO/ punches. Nothing like kicking off a new contract by defeating one’s opponent; this win set the stage for his prospective future with the promotion, where he continues to be a worthy adversary. We totally look forward to his next match, and cannot wait to see what stops he pulls out as he fights for victory!
Fight Night
Considering the lineup of fights to come during WSOF 31, and the insane fight expected between VaporFi-sponsored fighter, Luis Palomino and Sheymon da Silva Moraes, June 17, 2016 will be a night of legendary MMA action not to be missed! The main card of the night will be the match between Josh “Cuddly Bear” Copeland (another #TeamVaporFi MMA fighter) and Blagoy Ivanov, as they fight for the WSOF heavyweight title. Of course, we’re cheering on our team fighters, but between these two warriors, this fight will not go down easy, and the champion will certainly be deserving of the title!
