All the amazing action of this premier mixed martial arts competition will be televised live on the all-new Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV), starting at 9pm EST, as Bellator and Team VaporFi continue their efforts to bring top-tier fighting talent face-to-face for the world to witness.

The 34-year-old San Bernardino, California native of Palestinian and Brazilian descent joined Bellator in 2009. Since that time, he has enjoyed garnering a reputation as a quick striking competitor who matches well against fighters of virtually any style or discipline. Overall, he has amassed a 21-9 record in the lightweight division with 9 of his victories scored by way of KO/ TKO. Riding on back-to-back wins at Bellator 178 and 186 by unanimous decision and a 1st round TKO respectively, Awad has shown both the ability to end contests quickly as well as go the distance to emerge victorious. He looks to continue his recent success streak and further his resume towards a shot at the lightweight title with a convincing win this Friday night in Temecula.
Awaiting the challenge is J.J. "Superman" Ambrose who is more than happy to enter the cage in the SoCal showdown. Ambrose, 30, is also a native from Lakewood, California, so a little cross-county clash may be in the works when he faces Awad at Bellator 193. An accomplished MMA specialist in his own right, "Superman" has a career record of 28-7 with 6 KO/ TKOs and is currently on an impressive 5-match win streak dating back to May of 2016. A serious threat who also has his eyes set on the opportunity awaiting with the lightweight crown, the stakes only continue to build for both J.J. Ambrose and Saad Awad until the two meet at the Pechanga Resort and Casino.
